DescriptionJodlersgold (Yodeller’s Gold) is a German brewery based in Brandenburg, Germany. This brief required an outcome that represented that traditional German style, and brought the brewery’s identity into a more modern, digital ready image.


The general idea was to place Jodlersgold in a space in the market that would allow it to compete with higher-end beers and ales- a rung above standard, run of the mill beers, with an authentic, heritage focused edge.
A key part of the marketing for Jodlersgold is the slogan “Get Jolly with Jodlersgold”, which is designed to effectively communicate the social aspect of drinking with friends and family, and the history in Germanic nations of drinking as a social release. “JOLLY” is chosen here as it evokes ideas of traditional German bierhalls, Oktoberfest, etc.


Alongside this was a fresh take on a landing page for the Jodlersgold website, utilising moving image of a bubbling pint to create an eye-catching look that represents the detail loving style of Jodlersgold. Part of the allure of this moving image is the fact&#38;nbsp;that when you look at other breweries online, there is little to really&#38;nbsp;differentiate each major brewery.

On offer: four distinctly German beers.
I designed the Jodlersgold can packaging utilising the Jodlersgold packaging pattern as a centrepiece, with a strong system of information presentation set sideways on the can: “Jodlersgold presents:” used to introduce the consumer to the beer style.

This way, as a customer, you feel as though this is a grandiose, well-crafted and proud item, and are more likely to place it as a high-quality, high-end product.

As part of this branding project, I got to work with Adobe’s 3D software, Dimension. It’s something I’d wanted to try my hand at and develop as a skill, and it’s been consistently amazing for me to see a design idea really come to life with a custom mockup.
I created a few simplistic close-up shots to showcase the brand products, keeping render times low with medium quality exports in this case.

DescriptionWhile at Dawn, I worked with the team to rebrand the agency.
This was a great experience of real in-industry work, helped me to build my confidence up and test out my skills as a designer- and enjoy working in a team of like-minded individuals!
I worked within the team to convert all existing materials from documents to marketing and downloadables. As part of my role, I also helped to set styles for information presentation, the graphic style of the new brand,&#38;nbsp;and typesetting rules.

I was responsible for pieces of design used by the agency in webinars, digital marketing, advertisements, presentations, etc.
I also worked on client work at Dawn- take a look at Scryla, Zen, Birchdale, 10trees, and AIM for a range of digital, UX/UI and branding work.

	Taking inspiration from Michael Bierut and Pentagram’s work on Saks Fifth Avenue and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. A lockup that’s designed to be just too big for the area it sits in; evoking a sense that this is a heritage brand, a big, established brand, and that it’s full of energy... and can’t be contained.
Part of this brief was that the owners of Joseph Holt, the Holt family, are really proud of the current logo, and wanted to use it somehow in the Holt 175th anniversary logo lockup. I analysed the current logo, and found that the main aspect, and the most important visually, is the family crest- a very heritage focused, proud and gallant graphic that had a lot of potential in a more digital form.
I also came up with the idea that as a campaign under Joseph Holt, it was important to look at it like a birthday party: you don’t rip the walls down and build a new house to celebrate; you put up banners and buy flowers.

This campaign’s lockup would be designed to sit within the normal Joseph Holt lockup for the time it runs- with subtle changes to appeal to diehard customers and eagle-eyed pub-goers... like a nice, heritage celebrating, simple and to the point banner put up, centre stage.

One of the main decisions in the campaign identity was to keep the Joseph Holt logo’s colours in play but bring them out a bit more and saturate them, which alongside the use of more clean lines and a thick white stroke, evokes a classic British heritage feel- an ideal thought to
play with at the time of the Royal Coronation, and a solid marketing tactic.

DescriptionZen’s 10 Trees campaign runs with the premise that for every new customer in four areas (areas here), Zen would ensure 10 trees would be planted. The general idea was that ‘we can be a force for good’.

I played a key role in the concept and identity, as well as initial proposal of this campaign, creating the lockup and initial digital marketing, as well as coming up with various lines of copy to promote and sell the idea.

ClassificationBrand identity, logo design, typesetting + typography

DescriptionBirchdale Vending wanted a new brand, on a small scale.
They were looking to present themselves as suppliers of reliable, well-built, mid to high end modern vending machines that simply put, “do the job”. Part of the brand of Birchdale is the emphasis on providing quality service, consistent maintenance and fast outcomes for clients and customers.
The outcome here was an abstract logo marque, representing the letter B while also reminiscent of a classic vending machine part, the spiral, which dispenses the food or drink you choose.

The type of the lockup utilises Hanken Grotesk, with a wide tracking and slight outline editing to build relationships between the logo marque and letter marque.

	Uniform
The idea behind the Birchdale rebrand was to bring the logo into the modern era, and use an abstract letterform marque to provide some evolution on their old branding (a large B encapsulated in an oval).

My response was to create an abstract ‘B’ mark which looks similar to the typical vending machine spiral; providing a two-prong abstract strategy to appeal to modern customers.

Also key part of the brief is the fact that the company would be applying its branding on many surfaces- from stickers on the vending machines, to storage for existing, not in use machines. It was as such, important that the logo have a horizontal and vertical lockup, and be legible in small and large sizes- for small stickers, and big decals.

DescriptionApiary is a beekeeping produce store with two aims: to provide ethically sourced beekeeping produce with
natural health benefits including (but not limited to) honey, pollen, nectar, propolis, and to bring beekeeping as a skill
and interest into the mainstream for younger audiences.

Apiary required a dynamic, adaptive labelling system for
its produce. The system I came up with through multiple iterations was a simple,&#38;nbsp; eyecatching series of labels that change based on the container, yet retain a distinctive, uniform brand identity.Another outcome was the apiary posterzine, designed
as a series of collectable zines that fold out into posters with beekeeping-themed designs. I set up silk screens and hand-printed multiple copies of the first issue, allowing for a tactile feel in-hand, with an alluring A1 poster on the back.
